Some info about our Gourmet Group: We are 4 couples who enjoy cooking, entertaining, and most of all, each other’s company.
We take turns hosting in our homes. The hosts decide on the menu (theme) from appetizers to dessert for the evening. The hosts cook most of the meal, but give at least one course (along with all the recipes) to the other couples to prepare. We love trying new recipes and ideas. So most of the time, the recipes are ones we haven’t cooked before, but they don’t have to be.
Another couple of our Gourmet (Cooking) Group hosted a Spanish theme night at their home. Let’s take a look at her tablescape for the evening. Of course, this tablescape would work for a Mexican-themed evening as well.
She set a very colorful Spanish tablescape. Sadly, I took the photos before the candles were lit.
She started with a bright red tablecloth as her base and then cleverly layered it with a table runner that resembles a Spanish serape.
Mini bull piñatas and bright, vibrant paper flowers add a festive touch to the table…
Dinner party favors for each of us – Spanish candy & treats…
THE MENU
The Gazpacho Sopa (with Jamon Serrano and Hard-Boiled Egg Garnish) – it was delightful!!
All the food was ‘delicioso’ (delicious) but especially the paella! Paella is very time-consuming to make but certainly worth the all the effort. I’m disappointed I forgot to take photos of our paella (& and the other foods), but here is the link to their Seafood Paella Recipe.
