Some info about our Gourmet Group: We are 4 couples who enjoy cooking, entertaining, and most of all, each other’s company.
We take turns hosting in our homes. The hosts decide on the menu (theme) from appetizers to dessert for the evening. The hosts cook most of the meal, but give at least one course (along with all the recipes) to the other couples to prepare. We love trying new recipes and ideas. So most of the time, the recipes are ones we haven’t cooked before, but they don’t have to be.

Grilling Season is Upon Us…
Here’s a look at the grilling theme & menu we put together when we hosted Gourmet Group at our house last summer.
I called it :
Decorating Theme for the Evening…
My foyer chest to greet our guests…what’s prettier than beautiful pink peonies in season
The chest in my dining room – I kept a fairly simple and clean decorating scheme for the evening…
I also set the table with a simple blue color scheme with a touch of yellow and red…
PLACE SETTINGS
I used light and dark blue bandanas as placemats. Originally I was going to use the bandanas for napkins but I didn’t like the lightweight texture of them for use as napkins. As you can see I ended up using ivory napkins instead. Then I layered my Pottery Barn chargers, off white dinner plates, and blue and white salad plates.
I used kids’ blue and red grilling tongs and flippers (which I bought at Hobby Lobby ) for place-name cards.
